Il ministro dell'Economia greco, Michalis Chryssohoidis, ha definito "piuttosto disperata" la situazione in cui versa il suo Paese. In un'intervista rilasciata al settimanale tedesco Die Zeit, il ministro ha spiegato come i Greci vivano la crisi attuale in modo "molto doloroso", poiché "i redditi dei cittadini vengono tagliati in modo sempre più drastico".
"Quando vedremo la luce alla fine del tunnel? - si chiede il ministro - non possiamo saperlo. Ma il governo greco è completamente isolato nella sua politica di riforme. L'opposizione assicura che potrebbe rinegoziare le condizioni del credito. La sinistra radicale vuole abbandonare l'euro (...) Siamo soli ormai".
Un fallimento della Grecia, di un paese dell'eurozona, "sarebbe una catastrofe poiché avrebbe un effetto domino", ha aggiunto Chryssohoidis.
Il ministro dell'Economia tedesco, Philipp Roesler, si recherà in Grecia questa settimana per discutere di eventuali investimenti tedeschi nel Paese.
